Call for Nominations for Election to the ANARE National Council of 2023-2024 open on 1 June 2023.
On behalf of the National Council of the ANARE Club Incorporated, nominations are invited from currently financial members of the ANARE Club for election to the following positions on the Council for 2023-24;
- President,
- Vice President,
- Secretary,
- Treasurer,
- Ordinary Councillor (up to nine to be elected).
Nominations are open from Monday 1st June to COB Wednesday 28 June 2023.
If required, elections/voting will be conducted from Saturday 1 July and close Friday 28 July 2023, by paper and electronic voting, by means to be advised. Results of the elections will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday 19 August 2023.
The term of the next National Council will be from August 2023 to August 2024, generally comprising meetings in October 2023 / February 2024/ May 2024 / August 2024 plus the Annual General Meeting in August 2024. Attendance of these meetings will commonly require virtual attendance via Zoom or interstate travel for some councillors, but travel expense assistance is provided.
Nominations must be made using the form downloaded from the Club website. A member may nominate themselves, but must have a Seconder who is also a current financial member. The Nominee, Nominator and Seconder must all sign the Nomination Form, including in cases where the nominator and the nominee are the same person.
Candidates are asked to provide a statement of up to 200 words identifying themselves and supporting their nomination to Council. The statement may be typed on the form (preferably) or hand-written. The candidate may also, if so desired, provide a head and shoulders picture. If an election is required, candidates’ statements will be published in the secure part of the website (requiring a log-in) and via an email to members as part of the election process.
Completed nomination forms must reach the Secretary by Close of Business on Wednesday, 28 June 2023. Allowances of a couple of days for post will be made.
