John (Percy John) Milne 1937 – 7 July 2025

John Milne had an interesting career. A journalist for the Bangkok Post and Jakarta Post newspapers decades ago, he served at Macquarie Island In 1961, as a geophysicist. He was employed by the Australian Information Service, serving as First Secretary (Information) at the Australian embassy in Bangok in the early 1980s. He died in Canberra at age 88, and is survived by his wife Somsong, and three children. An interesting and intellectual man, he was a great friend and colleague to many.
