Grant for ANARE Oral History Project

An application was made to the Tasmanian Community Fund earlier this year.

We have just heard that we were successful in obtaining a grant for $2500 specifically to record the social and cultural history of Tasmanian ANARE expeditioners who have participated in expeditions to Macquarie Island between 1950 and 2010.

Thanks TCF!!

Looking for Nella Dan Video

Paul also wrote:
'...The article revived memories of the icebreaker Shirase dragging the Nell Dan  free in Late 85, west of Mawson after being stuck in fast ice for two months.  There was a great video of the incident at the time but I am afraid it has been lost....'

Does anybody have a copy of this video?  If so would you please contact Paul.
